Vice President Joseph Gorman convened the regular meeting of the Springfield Township Business Association at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 1999 in The Grove Banquet Hall, 9158 Winton Road.
As the first order of business, Mr. Gorman called upon Brad King, representing the nominating committee, to conduct the election of officers for the year 2000. Mr. King nominated the following slate of candidates:

Recording Secretary- Peggy Doller, Springfield Township Administration

Karen Hug, Kiddie Junction.
Cathy Bonewell seconded the nomination of the slate as presented. With no additional nominations from the floor, the slate was elected by acclamation of membership.
Gail Jacobs, Membership Committee, reported that the Association currently has 77 members. Members were asked to review the roster and make any corrections to the information.
Ted Hubbard, Chief Deputy County Engineer, and Township Administrator Michael Hinnenkamp discussed the proposed Winton Road widening project. The entire project will take about 4 years to complete; however, the preliminary work is taking place at this time. Township Trustees, in conjunction with the Engineer's Office, recently formed a committee to study access management and other issues of importance to revitalization of the corridor. These business leaders will also work with the Hamilton County Economic Development group hired by the Township to conduct a Winton Road Corridor study.
Members of the Access Management Committee are: Jeff Scholles - attorney; Maggi Wesley, Brentwood Bowl; Nancy Grathwohl, 5/3 Bank; Kathy Koops, Sibcy Cline Realtors; Joseph Honerlaw, attorney /township trustee; Elizabeth Nichols, New Plan Realty, owners of Brentwood Plaza; John Holatz, Schmitdt's Meats; Bill Eder, owner of strip center at Winton & Hempstead; John Zimmerman, Powel Crosley Jr., YMCA; Clare Dietrichs, United Dairy Farmers; and Bob Trenkamp, engineer, Thomas Graham Associates.
Announcements: Mike Hinnenkamp will participate in a live show on Waycross Community Access television on 11/18/99 at 7:00 p.m. Members are urged to call in with any questions or input.
Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar will open on 11/16/99 in Brentwood Plaza at Winton Road and Hempstead Drive.
Springfield Township's Winter Festival will take place on December 5 from 12:30 until 6:30 p.m. The Association has been offered a booth if we want to be involved. Members should contact Joe Gorman with ideas.
Guest Speaker: Tom Talley, Talley Electronics, gave an informative presentation on electronic surveillance equipment and ways to make our businesses more secure. He also gave a number of pointers on securing quotes for alarm systems.
Business of the Month: Mercy Franciscan at Winton Woods and Mercy Franciscan at St Clare were chosen Business of the Month. Director Sharon Thornton will give a short presentation at the January 2000 meeting.
