Vice President Deborah Reynolds opened the regular meeting of the Springfield Township Business Association at 8:10 a.m. in The Grove Hall, 9158 Winton Road. There were 16 members and one guest in attendance.
Minutes of the May 11, 2000 meeting were approved as presented on Motion by Kathy Koops and second by Margaret Buresch.
Treasurer Bob Will reported a beginning balance of $3305.70, receipts of $210.00 and expenditures of $665.96 leaving a balance of $2849.74.
New members: Jesse Bennett, Cincinnati Bell Telephone, and Michael Friedhof, Allstate Insurance.
EXPO 2000 Report: Gene Burton reported that 25 tables have been reserved with room for 2 more if needed. Set up should start no later than 5:30 p.m. and the event will run from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Ads will appear in The Cincinnati Enquirer, Hilltop Press; the Township newsletter and on the marquee at Winton Savings & Loan. In addition, the Township has placed posters in about 50 businesses throughout the area. Balloons with the web site imprinted will be supplied by Queen City Balloons and Sibcy Cline will supply bags. A Tae Kwando demonstration will take place in the hall.
Business of the Month: Hairline I & Nails
Guest Speaker: Ellen Frankenberg, PhD spoke on Group Dynamics of a Family Owned Firm. A few points of interest were that 31% of family businesses are owned by women and only 15% of family owned companies survive to the third generation. July Business of the Month - No one was present to represent Brentwood Bowl at this meeting.
