1st Business Expo is a Success

We had our first Business Expo. All in all, I think it went very well. There are definitely things that we will do differently next time. It seemed as if we just stated to get busy when it was time to shut down. So maybe next time we could do it form 6:30 until 8:00. Let me get feedback from you on what you thought. I want to thank all the businesses that participated. I would like to have thanked you personally, but I was out at the STBA-sponsored food booth handing out hot dogs. I would also like to thank all those kind folks who showed up for their shifts at the food booth. Between the July booth and August booth, we collected $450 for the organization.

Election of New Officers

In November we will be electing new officers. Please think about candidates for officers. We definitely need a new president as Robin McNulty no longer works in Springfield Township and his new job is taking up lots of his time. All positions are up for grabs. Please get involved. If possible, please let us know at the next meeting what position so we can let our membership know.

Meeting Times/Speakers

Our guest speaker will be Gary Hollander. Mr. Hollander's topic will be HOW EMPLOYEE BENEFITS RECRUIT & RETAIN GOOD EMPLOYEES. It should be an interesting topic. Mr. Hollander owns Gary E. Hollander & Associates. He is a Certified Financial Planner and has a BBA degree. He established his business in 1976. We hope you will get a lot out of this talk.

Entrepreneurial Training Program

The Hamilton County Development Company's Small Business Development Center will offer the NxLevel Entrepreneurial Training Program beginning September 14, 1999. The course is designed for the business owner, manager, or employee who wishes to enhance his/her entrepreneurial skills and successfully operate a business. It is a 15-week course. Cost is $395 per person; spouses or business partners may attend for an additional $300 each. For further information please contact: Patrick Longo at 631-8292

Highway Cleanup

It's going to be Highway Cleanup time again soon. We have scheduled the next cleanup for October 9 at 8 am. We want to get it done before the weather gets too bad. Please sign up. In November we will discuss whether we want to continue this activity for the next year. It is a good cause, but we need more volunteers to help.

Next Meeting July 8th

Our next meeting will be September 9th at noon. We are giving the lunchtime a try to see whether we can reach more companies and expand our ranks. If we are successful, we will try to have them two or three times a year. Lunch will be provided by Cincinnati Catering. We may collect a nominal $2.00 charge to help offset our cost.
