Unfinished Business:

á      The Business Association is soon to be the Springfield Township Chamber of Commerce.  501 paperwork to be completed in October.

á      Would like to have an open house in November to celebrate the new status as a Chamber of Commerce.  Will perhaps couple this celebration with a membership drive.

á      Melanie McNulty gave an update on the new Fire Station and Administration Building.  An open house is being planned for Saturday, October 23rd or Saturday, November 6th, to officially open the new building.

á      Ms. McNulty thanked the Business Association for the successful Business Expo they hosted at GroovinÕ at the Grove on July 16th.  She also expressed thanks for running the DonatoÕs Pizza booth at both events.

á      Vice President Boettcher asked if the Business Association wants to continue as a member of the RCP.  Ads for the membership directory must be submitted by October 15th.  Bob Will said if we get enough businesses to take out ads, continuing our membership pays for itself.

á      The Reading Chamber of Commerce is now a member of the RCP.

á      Next RCP meeting is Wednesday, October 20th at the Holiday Inn.  Cost is $15 per person.

á      The RCP Holiday Party is on December 15th at the Springdale Hotel.

á      Thom Schneider, Waycross Community Media, said that on Wednesday, September 15th, Waycross will host the program ÓTalking With Springfield Township,Ó The show will run on channel 23 and will feature Township Administrator, Michael Hinnenkamp.

á      Also coming on Waycross channel 24 are four evenings of candidates and issues.  Dates are September 27, 28, 29 and 30.  Go to www.waycross.org for more information.

New Business:

á      Nancy Phillips offered Sunrise Assisted Living as a place to host an after hours party.  She suggested inviting neighboring Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations and exchanging business information.  Ms. Phillips thought hosting the event around the holidays, perhaps early January, would be a good time of year.  Suggested time is 4:00 until 7:00 P.M.  Could be an Open House with appetizers, etc.

á      Andy Boettcher suggested neighboring Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations should cross promote activities, concerts, festivals, etc. they are involved with.  Perhaps a schedule could be made prior to each summer with these events listed.

á      The next general meeting will be held on Thursday, 11th.  The time and place will be announced.  This will also be our annual election of officers.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:00.

Respectfully submitted,

Melanie McNulty
