The breakfast meeting was held at 8:00 a.m. at the Springfield Township Senior Center. There were 17 people in attendance.

Vice President Andy Boettcher chaired the meeting in the absence of President Deborah Reynolds. The meeting was called to order at 8:10 a.m.

Treasurer’s Report — Bob Will gave the following report:

Balance as of last board meeting - $2,850.06

Income - 647.62

Expenses - 906.15

Current balance $2,591.53

Programs — Denise Cagle reported that the November will be a luncheon. She asked if anyone would host the meeting. Elections will be that day. Nominations for officers and board members are now being accepted. An Open House to attract new members is being planned for October.

Land Use and Zoning - Bob Trenkamp reported that the Springfield Township Winton Road streetscape plan is progressing and will be tied to corridor road improvements planned by Hamilton County.

Groovin’ at the Grove — Melanie McNulty thanked the STBA for its participation in running the grilled food booth at the August 16 Groovin’ at the Grove. Thank you to Maggie Wesley for organizing the workers and to all that helped. Melanie also reported that crowds for both summer events were larger than past years.

• Vice President, Andy Boetthcer passed around business directories compiled by other business associations. Karen Burton is working on the Springfield Township Business Directory at this time.
• The Open House will be discussed further at the October board meeting.
• Discussion on joining a regional chamber of commerce is ongoing.

• Publicity for the STBA. How to get information about the organization to the public.
• Melanie McNulty suggested one way is to involve township businesses in helping plan a township wide Ohio Bicentennial celebration.
• The November general meeting date is still being set. Nominations and elections will take place at the meeting.

Andy Boettcher introduced the speaker, Scott Cast of Midland Atlantic Real Estate.

Midland Atlantic —

• Owns buildings and represents business tenants along the Winton Road corridor.
• Built the empty Hollywood Video building. Hollywood continues to pay rent, but cannot open the store at this time. They may open if a large anchor store goes into Brentwood Plaza.

Mr. Cast reported that obtaining a large tenant, such as Bigg’s, in the Plaza is the key to other businesses locating along Winton Road. If Bigg’s moves in, so do better tenants. Panera Bread is looking to locate along Winton Road.

Bob Will spoke about the importance of getting new people on the STBA board and the need to amend the current by-laws. Nominations for officers and board members will be taken anytime from now until the November meeting.

The next meeting of the Board of Directors is 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 10 at the Springfield Township Administration Building.
