SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
GENERAL MEETING Ð
NOVEMBER 11, 2004
The luncheon meeting was held at the Powel Crosley, Jr.
YMCA on Winton Road. There were 11
members in attendance.
Following lunch, the meeting was
called to order by President Rhys Reynolds at 11:50 A.M. Ms. Reynolds asked for all in
attendance to introduce themselves and state what business they represented.
TreasurerÕs Report Ð Bob Will gave the following
report:

Membership renewal notices for
2005 will be sent out by the end of the year.
Membership fee has been adjusted
to a flat rate of $50.00 per business.
Committee Reports:
- Communications Ð Chip Berquist reported that the STCC new website domain is www.springfieldtwpchamber.org Scott Finke is currently working
on a new membership brochure and applying to get a bulk mail permit to
save money on large mailings.
- Programs Ð A
holiday Open House is planned for Thursday, December 9th from 5
Ð 7 P.M. at Sunrise Assisted Living on Winton Road.
- Membership Ð Ms.
Reynolds hopes to attract new business members with the organizationÕs new
status as a Chamber of Commerce.
She had many pamphlets with information about what advantages STCC
members can receive as part of the Chamber. President Reynolds also hopes to attract more Òhands
onÓ members that are willing to take positions on the Board and help with
other projects when needed.
- Land Use and Zoning Ð No report. DeShonne
Jackson has moved to a new location out of Springfield Township. We will need a new Trustee to fill
his position.
Chamber Update:
- Election of Officers - Due to a low turn out of members because of VeteranÕs Day, Melanie
McNulty made a motion to postpone the annual election of officers and
trustees until the January meeting.
The motion was seconded and passed.
- The ChamberÕs Vice President, Andy Boettcher, has
taken a position in Dayton and can no longer serve on the board.
- Scott Finke designed the new STCC logo. A motion was made by Laura Kinney
to give Scott an honorarium of $50 for his services. The motion was seconded and
passed.
Southern Ohio Chamber
Alliance (SOCA):
- The STCC is now a member of the Southern Ohio Chamber
Alliance, or SOCA. Bob Will
is our membershipÕs contact person regarding questions pertaining to
insurance. Mr. Will stated
that SOCA is affiliated with Anthem.
There was no Old Business
New Business:
- The STCC will be a part of the RCP Directory again in
2005. All business members
are listed in the directory as part of their membership. Ads may be place in the directory
for $150.
- The RCP Holiday Party is Wednesday, December 15th
from 11 until 1 at the Springdale Hotel and Conference Center. Businesses may sponsor a table at
the party for $250. Cost is
$15 for RCP members and $20 for non-members.
Rhys Reynolds introduced the
dayÕs speaker, Mike Cicak, from the Sheakley Group of Companies.
Mr. Cicak spoke about workmanÕs comp.
Announcements:
- The next general meeting is scheduled for 11:30 A.M.
on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at the Springfield Township
Senior and Community Center.
The meeting was adjourned at
12:40 by President Reynolds.
