SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP

Board of Directors – September 29, 2005

PRESENT: Rhys Reynolds, Bob Will, Chip Berquist, Chris Vogelsang, Nancy Phillips and Melanie McNulty.

The meeting was held at the Springfield Township Administration Building and was called to order at 8: 15 A.M.

Treasurer’s Report – Bob Will gave the following report:

Balance as of last Board meeting - $2,146.70

Income - $433.80

Expenses - $157.58

Current balance - $2,422.92

Bob Will is moving his office in December and can no longer serve on the Chamber of Commerce Board. Chip Berquist will accept his position as Treasurer.

New Business:

1. Regional Commerce Partnership Update – Chris Vogelsang

· Springfield Township will host the Wednesday, October 19^th meeting to be held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Springdale (Rt. 4 & I-275) at 11:30 A.M. (Sponsors there by 11:00.)

· Rhys Reynolds will serve as Master of Ceremonies, introduce the speaker and announce door prize winners.

· Looking for business table sponsors from Springfield Township. Cost is $250. Receive 2 lunches and a display table to pass out literature/information about your business. Company is spotlighted during the meeting. Sponsor money goes to the STCC.

· Nancy Phillips said Sunrise Assisted Living will sponsor a table.

· RCP Holiday Party – Wednesday, December 14 at Dave and Buster’s beginning at 11:30. STCC must provide 2 raffle prizes with at least a $25 value.

· RCP Golf Outing – June of 2006. STCC will participate in planning and sponsorships.

· RCP Directory – 2006 ads will be same price as 2005. Bob Will suggested collecting money up front with ad requests.

2. STCC Elections
• To be held at the November 10^th meeting. Meeting at Waycross Community Media on Waycross Road starting at 11:30 A.M.
• Need 8 Board members. Entire slate is open.
• Current Board members are contacting others to run for an office.
3. 2005 – 2006 Tentative Calendar
• November 2005 – Membership Drive
• December 2005 – RCP Holiday Party, Wed, Dec. 14 – Dave & Buster’s
• January 2006 – Business Workshop
• February 2006 – RCP Luncheon with speaker. Feb. 15
• March 2006 – STCC Fund Raiser
• April 2006 – Workshop possibly to be held with another Chamber
• May 2006 – Regular meeting/picnic
• June 2006 – RCP Golf Outing
• September 2006 – Possible “Taste of Springfield Township” and Business Expo
• October 2006 – RCP Luncheon
• November 2006 – Regular meeting and elections
• December 2006 – RCP Holiday Party
4. Membership
• Chip Berquist stated that information about the Chamber of Commerce and an on line application can be found at our website: www.springfieldtwpchamber.org
• Chip is also looking into “membership plaques” for STCC members to display at their place of business.

Announcements:

• The next General Meeting of the STCC will be held at Waycross Community Media on Thursday, November 10 at 11:30 A.M.

Insurance: Should businesses update policies in the wake of recent natural

disasters?

Fire Chief Robert Leininger – EOP (Emergency Operations Plan) for Springfield

Township.

Judge Dinkelaker – swear in Board of Directors.
