SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Board of Directors
Š September 14, 2006
PRESENT: Rhys
Reynolds, Jeffery McKanna and Melanie McNulty
The meeting was held at Panera Bread on Winton Road and
called to order at 8:12 A.M. by president Rhys Reynolds.
TreasurerÕs Report Š Jeff McKanna gave the following report:
Balance as of July 31, 2006 - $2, 229.07
Income
0.00
Expenses
-
330.00 (sponsorships for 2
summer events)
The current balance (as of August 31) was not reported, as
the bank statement was not available.
New Business:
- The
St. Vivian SchoolÕs science and computer program has requested grant funds
from the Chamber of Commerce.
The board voted to contribute $200 toward the purchase of new
equipment. Mr. McKanna will
send the check.
- The
STCC could be headed in a new direction. As a result of participation on the Springfield
Township Vision Committee, Ms. Reynolds expressed concern about how spread
out township businesses are and that the different pockets of businesses
do not feel a part of the whole.
There is also a lack of recognition and knowledge of the Chamber of
Commerce throughout the business community and the community in
general. Discussion took
place about the continuation of a central Chamber of Commerce board of
directors, with the addition of satellite groups representing the smaller
business districts throughout the township. These satellite groups would understand the needs of
their own business district, yet still be connected to the Springfield
Township Chamber of Commerce.
The hope is to continue with a core board of directors and
satellite groups. This idea will
be proposed at the general meeting of members on November 9th.
The next general meeting of the Chamber of Commerce is Thursday,
November 9, 2006. The meeting will begin at 11:30 A.M. in
the fire department training room located at the Springfield Township
Administration and Fire Complex at 9150 Winton Road. Lunch will be provided.
Please RSVP to Melanie McNulty by telephone at 522-1410 or

The meeting was adjourned
at 9:12 A.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Melanie McNulty,
Recording Secretary
