Old Business —

  1. President Reynolds revisited the advantages of being a STBA member. She is asked by business owners frequently, what the advantages are. All agree we need new members and must give them reasons to join and become involved. STBA has a small time feel. Perhaps STBA can align with other associations in the area. Township businesses should use other township businesses if they are good. Deborah suggested we revisit the association’s mission and include the mission statement on all literature that goes out. We must do more networking with other businesses and promote each other’s business. Bob Trenkamp suggested that Deborah talk about this at the next general meeting. Chip Berquist said the Forest Park Chamber joined the Southern Ohio Chamber Alliance two years ago. Ms. Reynolds will contact them. Deborah also suggested that the STBA should sponsor a happy hour/open house for all businesses in Springfield Township. People could RSVP if coming. The purpose would be for business networking and promoting the STBA. The association will combine the member picnic with the open house for all businesses. Deborah will look into possible places to have it. Suggestions are: Brentwood Swim Club, Winton Woods or Evergreen.
  2. Bob Trenkamp and Andy Boettcher will meet about setting criteria for requests for donations. They were not able to get together since the last board meeting.
  3. Bob Trenkamp also reported that he has requested a zoning change for the land next to his current property. He plans to construct a new office building there.

New Business — None at this time.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:40. The next general meeting will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 11:30 at Sibcy Cline, 9250 Winton Road.

Respectfully submitted,

Melanie McNulty
