SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
GENERAL MEETING Ð
MARCH 10, 2004
The luncheon meeting was held at the Mt. Healthy Christian
Home, 8097 Hamilton Avenue. There
were 6 people in attendance.
Following lunch, the meeting was
called to order at 12:10 P.M. by President Rhys Reynolds.
Elections were again postponed
due to low turn out of membership.
The organization currently is in need of a Vice President and two
Trustees. The former office holders
have either moved out of the area, or are working at offices outside of
Springfield Township. If
interested in running for the Board, please call Rhys at 522-3885 or check out

TreasurerÕs Report Ð There is no financial report this
month, as Bob Will is out sick.
Standing Committee Reports:
- Communications Ð No report
- Membership Ð Currently stands at 60 members. Have 15 new members for 2005. Some businesses are located
outside of the township but have clients in Springfield Township.
- Programs Ð No
report
Chamber Updates Ð
- All member business information will be sent to the
RCP (Regional Commerce Partnership) today for publication in the RCP,
business-to-business directory.
It should be published and sent to members by the end of March.
- A Springfield Township ÒBusiness of the MonthÓ will
be spotlighted on the
electronic sign at the new Administration and Fire Complex on
Winton Road.
- Ms. Reynolds asked for suggestions to increase
attendance at the meetings.
Here are several:
1. Send
an announcement by mail, but also email a reminder several days prior to the
meeting.
2. When
a business RSVPÕs saying they will attend, give them a small assignment to help
with at the meeting so they will feel obligated to be there.
3. Put
information about the meeting on the Township electronic sign.
4. Survey
current membership to ask why they are not attending meetings.
5. List
all members in the next STCC newsletter.
Township Update Ð
- Melanie McNulty reported that the Grady Animal
Hospital construction is moving well. Panera, Quiznos and a new car wash, all on Winton Road
are currently under construction and are at different stages of
completion.
Guest Speaker Ð Rhys Reynolds introduced
Lynn McCane, Community Relations Coordinator at Mount Healthy Christian Home as
todayÕs guest speaker. Ms. McCane
gave an overview of her position with Mt Healthy Christian Home, who the Home
serves and what the Home provides its residents. 931-5000
Because there were few people at the meeting, Ms Reynolds
asked each person to talk about the business they represent or own.

- Social
Event Ð Business Link Network: Thursday,
March 24th from 5:30 until 7:30 P.M. Sunrise Assisted Living, 9101 Winton Road. Please RSVP to Nancy Phillips at

- The
Great American Cleanup will be held in Springfield Township on Saturday,
April 23rd.
Businesses may participate by picking up trash around their store
or office building. If anyone
would like to volunteer to help with the township cleanup, meet at the old
Fire Station (8375 Winton Road) between 8:30 and 9:00 A.M. that

- Springfield
TownshipÕs GroovinÕ at the Grove events are scheduled for Friday, July 22nd
and Saturday, August 20th. Ms. McNulty hopes the STCC will again run the pizza
booth as a fund-raiser for the organization.

general meeting Ð Thursday, May 12, 2005 at the Springfield Township
Senior and Community Center, 9158 Winton Road. Lunch Ð 11:30; Meeting - 12 Noon.
