SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Board of Directors – December 16, 2004

PRESENT: Rhys Reynolds, Bob Will, Chip Berquist, Nancy Phillips, Scott Finke and Melanie McNulty.

The meeting was held at Angelo’s Restaurant on Winton Road and was called to order at 8:05 A.M.

Treasurer’s Report – Bob Will gave the following report:

Current balance $2,167.66

Bob also reported that he has 8 paid memberships (new members and renewals) already for 2005.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Communications – Scott Finke gave the application for a non-profit number for postal mailings to Bob Will to finalize before sending to the post office. The STCC will apply for a “ghost” number, as this is a free service.

Scott is currently working on the new Chamber of Commerce informational brochure and membership application.

Information for the next newsletter must be to Scott by Monday, December 20^th to meet the mailing deadline of December 30^th. All newsletters must go out at least 2 weeks prior to the general meetings.

Chip Berquist reported the new website is up and running under the web address of:

www.springfieldtwpchamber.org Chip needs all information (brochures/newsletters) for the website to be emailed to him in a PDF file.

Programs – Bob Will reported that he, Gene Burton, Nancy Phillips and Chip Berquist attended the RCP Holiday Luncheon. Nancy will be our representative to the RCP unless she cannot attend a meeting. She will then call another STCC board member to attend.

Ms. Phillips will continue to contact speakers for future Chamber general meetings.

“Business After Hours,” a social and business networking opportunity, is being planned for Thursday, February 17^th from 5:30 until 7:00 P.M. at Sunrise Assisted Living of Finneytown. Nancy Phillips will contact the president of the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce to possibly make it a joint venture.

New Business –

• A motion was made by Melanie McNulty to donate $50 to Rachel Holland in her quest to raise money to be a Student Ambassador in Australia in the summer of 2005. Ms. Holland is a Springfield Township resident and attends Winton Woods High School. The motion was seconded and passed by unanimous vote.
• Election of officers and trustees will take place at the January general meeting of the Springfield Township Chamber of Commerce. All positions are up for vote, however, two are unfilled at this time: Vice President and Trustee. Board members are encouraged to ask STCC members if they are interested in holding an office.
• Ms. Reynolds will look into the possibility of advertising information about the Chamber of Commerce on the future Springfield Township Administration and Fire Complex sign.
• Melanie McNulty will look into hosting the January 13^th general meeting in the new Fire Department training room with a possible tour of the building following the meeting. She will let Scott Finke know so it can be put in the newsletter.
